On
September 4, 2025, Sokhumi State University held the presentation of the Final
Report (2022–2025) and concluding
event of the Jean Monnet Module “Corporate Social Responsibility in the
European Union: Experience for Georgia” (CSREU).
The
audience was welcomed by Professor Tea Jugheli, Rector of Sokhumi State
University, and Mariam Sulashvili, Head of the ERASMUS+ National Office.
The
Final Report of the three-year project was prepared and presented by the Module
Manager,
Jean Monnet Professor Larisa Takalandze. At the concluding event, she discussed
the activities, events, outcomes, challenges, and achievements carried out
within the framework of the Module. The financial aspects of the project were addressed by the Module
Financial Director, Associate Professor Nino Tophuridze, Speaker of the Representative
Council
(Senate).
In
summarizing the three-year work of the Module, the following key activities
were presented:
Year
1: 2022-2023
• The logo and banner of the Jean
Monnet Module were developed, 2022;
• The project page https://www.sou.edu.ge/content/7/78/218/0/0 was opened on the SSU website, 2022
• A Promotional event "Georgia and
the European Union: Opportunities for Cooperation" was held, where the
presentation on Jean Monnet Module was made, 2022
• The Resolution of the Academic
Council № 05/01-99 on the implementation of the new study course was adopted,
2022
• The presentation of the Jean Monnet
Module was held in the National Science Library at the event "Best
Achievement of the Year"; this project
was recognized as the best achievement in 2022 at SSU
• Syllabus “CSR in the European Union“ was developed, 2023
• The new teaching course “CSR in the
European Union“, During 2022-2023 Spring semester, under Bachelor educational
program of the SSU
• Meeting with the Representatives of
the Business Sectors and Rector
within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module, 2023
• The Summer School “CSR in the Context

Year 3: 2024-2025
The achieved results were
summarized and introduced to the audience by the project Manager.
The work carried
out within the project was positively evaluated by the Head of the Quality
Assurance Office, Associate Professor Romeo Galdava, and the Senior Specialist
of the same office, Associate Professor Marine Khubua. They
highlighted the effort and dedication invested in the project’s implementation
and discussed the anonymous student survey they conducted using a specially
developed questionnaire. The survey revealed strong student interest in the new
teaching course, “CSR in
the European Union” and high levels of appreciation for it. Students Tamar
Burduli and Lizi Okhanashvili spoke about the impact of the Jean Monnet
activities on students and their future professional development.
At finally,
the work done within the projects was assessed as successful and the importance
of the obtained results was noted.

In conclusion, during the event’s closing remarks, the Jean Monnet Module Manager, Professor Larisa Takalandze, expressed her gratitude to the University leadership and to all individuals involved in the project for their support and cooperation.
