Sokhumi State University welcomes you to the International Scientific Conference «Peace and Conflict Resolution: European Union Challenges and their
Impact on Georgia» which will be held in Tbilisi (Georgia) on October 7, 2026 in the framework of the Jean Monnet Module «Georgian Peace Paradigm and EU Peacebuilding» (N101175481 ERASMUS-JMO-2024-MODULE-EUPEACE) funded
by the European Commission (Erasmus+ Program).
The International Scientific Conference comprises academic
staff, postgraduate/doctoral students, and researchers from SSU and other HEIs
interested in Peacebuilding and European integration issues, in general. The Conference is dedicated to the pressing issue of
peacebuilding, understood as a comprehensive process encompassing all the
political, social, economic, cultural and relational dimensions involved in the
construction of sustainable Peace and Conflict Resolution. The Conference is facilitate the
exchange of experience among the researchers in this field, initiate new
research and implement them; The Conference is open to the academic experts, policy
advisers representing a broad range of stakeholders, civil society. Abstracts from conference papers
will be published after International scientific conference. The topics of
discussion include the following:

The Role of Higher Education in Peacebuilding; Higher Education and SDG 16:
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions;

EU as a Peace Actor;

Conflicts
and Peace Processes in Georgia (Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region);

The
Conflict in Georgia and the European Union; EU Conflict Management and Mediation in
Georgia;

European integration as a Peacebuilding
project. EU – Georgia Relations: Challenges and Opportunities in a new Global
context: Integration of Georgia with the EU: Expected Outcomes, EU/Georgia Association Agreement,
EU for Georgia and etc..
Abstracts from conference papers
will be published in electronic form after the Conference and will be
placed on the website of Sokhumi State University.
The
working languages of the Conference are Georgian and English and will be organized in a hybrid
way.
Participation in the International
Scientific Conference «Peace and Conflict Resolution: European Union Challenges and
their Impact on Georgia» is
free of charge. Conference participants will be sent an electronic
certificate via e-mail.
