A meeting was convened at Sokhumi State University within the framework of Student Support Program

On March 12, 2026, an informational and consultative session was organized for undergraduate students from the Faculties of Education Sciences, Business and Social Sciences, as well as Law and Diplomacy at Sokhumi State University. The session was opened by the Subprogram Coordinator, Professor Indira Dzagania, who underscored the critical importance of promoting awareness of mental health and fostering psycho-emotional well-being among students.

As part of the event, psychologist Natia Tchochua, a participant in the subprogram, delivered a presentation titled “Support for the Student Psychological and Social Services Platform.” Her presentation provided an overview of research conducted within the subprogram, highlighted the principal challenges encountered by students, and outlined effective approaches and strategies aimed at addressing these issues.

The subject matter generated substantial interest from the student audience. Upon conclusion of the presentation, informational brochures were distributed, and a structured survey was conducted. Participants completed questionnaires comprising items developed by the moderators.

Since 2022, Sokhumi State University has been actively implementing the subprogram “Support for the Student Psychological and Social Services Platform” under the broader initiative “Support for Higher Education Institutions” administered by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. Within this framework, multiple research initiatives have been carried out across higher education institutions in Georgia to systematically assess and analyze student needs.

For the current year, the subprogram has established the following strategic objectives:

a) Enhancing mental health awareness – intensifying outreach and informational efforts to enhance students’ understanding of the significance of psycho-emotional well-being;

b) Investigating patterns in artificial intelligence utilization – examining how students engage with artificial intelligence technologies within the academic process;

c) Assessing the psychological implications of artificial intelligence use – undertaking a comprehensive analysis of the effects of artificial intelligence on students’ psycho-emotional condition;

d) Formulating practical recommendations – developing practical guidelines to promote the healthy and balanced use of artificial intelligence.
