On
September 20, 2023, His Excellency Veselin Valkanov, the Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria, accompanied by
the First Secretary, Ivan Ivanov, paid a visit to Sokhumi State University. The
distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by the university's Rector, Professor
Zurab Khonelidze, and Professor Indira Dzagania, Head of the Department of
International Relations and Intercultural Connections.
During
the engaging meeting held as part of this amicable visit, discussions centered
on the enduring and successful collaboration between the Embassy of the
Republic of Bulgaria and Sokhumi State University, encompassing various
implemented projects and joint events. Notably, it was highlighted that
Professor Zurab Khonelidze's monographic work, "Georgian Paradigm of
Peace," had been translated into Bulgarian.

Veselin Valkanov, in his dialogue with the Rector of Sokhumi State University,
reaffirmed his commitment to fostering friendly and constructive cooperation.
Future plans were also outlined during the course of the meeting.
