Representatives of
Sokhumi State University—Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Diplomacy Otar
Davitaya, students of the Faculty of Law, and founders of the Peace Education
Club Tinatin Jugeli and Ana Kurua—along with university graduates and laureates
of the annual Youth Peace Award established by the Office of the State Minister
for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Lika Chimchiuri and Mariam Bregvadze
participated in the World Forum for Democracy, representing Sokhumi State
University on the international stage.
The World Forum
for Democracy is an annual global platform organized by the Council of Europe,
bringing together scholars, civil society leaders, and young people from around
the world.
This year,
discussions focused on contemporary challenges to democracy, innovative
peacebuilding strategies, and mechanisms for the protection of human rights.
The Forum took
place at the Council of Europe headquarters in Strasbourg.
