Minister Givi Mikanadze Awards Professor Nino Tsulaia of Sokhumi State University for Outstanding Contribution to Science
On February 11, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, conferred an honorary award upon Professor Nino Tsulaia of the Faculty of Education at Sokhumi State University in recognition of her outstanding contribution to science, as a young woman scientist.
The awards were presented jointly by the Minister and the Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Teimuraz Dochviri. The ceremony was attended by the Rector of Sokhumi State University, Professor Tea Jugeli.
The event honoring women scientists and girls in science was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia in cooperation with the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed annually on February 11. Established in 2015 pursuant to a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, the Day aims to promote the full and equal participation of women and girls in science, as well as to strengthen their expanding role in science, innovation, and technology.
