Sokhumi State University hosted an informational session for its students to explore military career trajectories, leadership development, the officer profession, and various academic pathways within military education.
Professor David Jalaghonia, Head of Administration at Sokhumi State University, greeted the attendees. He emphasized how essential it is to expose young people to diverse career orientations and professional choices, extending the university's gratitude to the visiting speaker.
The presentation was delivered by Captain Lekso Tsavelidze, representing the LEPL David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia.
During the briefing, students were introduced on the academic modules offered by the academy's Junior Officer Training School, the structure of military education, enrollment requirements, and long-term career advancement.
Captain Tsavelidze elaborated on the impact and future prospects of working as an officer. He outlined the specifics of the Junior Officer Training Candidate Course, the Voluntary Military Training Program geared toward Reserve Junior Officers, enrollment benchmarks, and the phases of candidate screening. Furthermore, the students were given an overview of the campus facilities, including academic resources, athletic spaces, and residential accommodations.
The session wrapped up with an interactive question-and-answer period, allowing students to clear up any specific inquiries directly with the National Defence Academy representative.
