Since
2015, Sokhumi State University (SSU) has traditionally hosted the National
Student Scientific-Practical Conference "Zhamtaaghmtsereli."
Undergraduate and graduate students from various higher education institutions
participate, presenting research in education and humanities sections,
including history, philology, pedagogy, and educational psychology.
The
11th conference was held on June 19, 2026. Alongside SSU students, participants
included students from Tbilisi State University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State
University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, and the Shota Rustaveli
Theatre and Film Georgia State University.
The
conference was opened by SSU Rector, Professor Tea Jugeli, who wished the
students success and emphasized the role of such conferences in developing
research skills and motivating future scientists. The attendees were also
welcomed by Department Head Prof. Lia Akhaladze, Head of Administration Prof.
Davit Jalaghonia, Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Romeo Galdava, Dean Prof. Tamar
Shinjiashvili, and other academic staff.
More
than 70 undergraduate and graduate students presented their papers across six
thematic sections of the conference, and their official award ceremony will be
held in a festive setting.
