On September 26-27, 2023, a DITECH Consortium meeting was held at Batumi Shota
Rustaveli State University. The
meeting was inaugurated by the project manager, Professor Sirie Virkus from
Tallinn University, and the national project manager, Associate Professor
Izabela Petriashvili from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The
DITECH Consortium members were greeted the Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education,
Prof. Lela Turmanidze.
Over
the course of two days, the consortium members deliberated on the results of
the external quality assessment and interim report, along with challenges and
strategies to mitigate them (Sirie Virkus). The methods of internal quality
control and assessment in Georgian universities were discussed, and the outcomes
of the mutual evaluation of syllabi and piloting were summarized (Tamar
Aslanishvili, Tamta Demetradze), followed by a panel discussion. The meeting
also featured presentations on the evaluation of the results of internal
quality control TM1, TM2, and TTW (Tina Gelashvili), the progress achieved by
the dissemination team up to this point (Lia Akhaladze, Levan Kvaratskhelia),
the online platform and website of DITECH (Daina Gudoniene), and an update on
the process of editing the reading materials (reader) for the undergraduate
study course (Nino Marghishvili), as well as the master's study course (Giga
Khositashvili), and various issues pertaining to readers (Sofiko Lobzhanidze).
On
the second day of the consortium, the project coordinator, Sirie Virkus, delivered
a comprehensive presentation on the 5th work package and addressed ongoing
project management matters. The Batumi consortium meeting placed special
emphasis on the project's sustainability, brainstorming future ideas and
proposals for the upcoming Erasmus+ competition (Madonna Mikeladze, Sofiko
Lobzhanidze). Detailed financial information was provided during the meeting,
and individual meetings were conducted with each university (Manana
Salukvadze). The closing session of the 4th DITECI Consortium meeting
encompassed discussions on the Consortium's future plans and the project's
trajectory. The session was chaired, and the meeting's proceedings were
assessed by the project's national coordinator, Associate Prof. Isabella
Petriashvili.
