On November 14, 2023, an informational and
analytical conference dedicated to the International Day of Science was held at
Sokhumi State University. The Rector of the
University Prof. Zurab Khonelidze and the head of Horizon Europe's national
office, Levan Khetsuriani, congratulated the International Day of Science.
The main speaker of the conference was Ekaterine
Sainaia, national contact person of the European Research Council of Horizon
Europe's national office, who introduced the academic staff of the university
to Horizon Europe's European Research Council (ERC) opportunities for Georgian
scientists and spoke in detail about the European Research Council's grant
competitions, how to fill out the application on features and evaluation
criteria.
Reports were made by the head of the quality assurance service, the head of the scientific research and development service, the head of the external relations service, the head of the university's Horizon Europe office and others. At the end of the conference there was a discussion and a summary of the working day.
