On October
1-2, 2020, the International Conference on the History and Future of the Polish
Diaspora was organized by the Bydgoszcz University of Economics in Poland. The
scientific forum was co-organized by Sokhumi State University and EventsPartner Kamila Helland (Norway).
Higher
education institutions from Australia, Great Britain, Latvia, Georgia, Norway,
Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan participated in the conference.
The
participants of the scientific forum were welcomed by the Rector of Sokhumi
State University, Professor Zurab Khonelidze, who underlined the importance of
international contacts for the academic space. He noted that Sokhumi State
University has all the conditions for the study and development of the Polish
language and culture.
Professor
Indira Dzagania, Head of the International Relations and Intercultural Connections Department of Sokhumi State University, talked about the academic
and social activities held at the Polish Language and Culture center
of our University: learning Polish, joint conferences, contacts with the Polish diaspora in
Georgia, etc.
