On
September 9, 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Sokhumi State
University and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic
of Abkhazia.
The
memorandum was signed by Tengiz Nasaridze, Minister of Finance and Economy of
the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, and Tea Jugheli, Rector of Sokhumi State
University.
During
the working meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for strengthening
cooperation between the Ministry and the University. The discussions focused
particularly on supporting the educational process for youth displaced from
Abkhazia, recent developments at the University, and the involvement of
students in the Ministry’s current and upcoming programs.
The
meeting was also attended by Professor Davit Jalaghonia, Head of the University
Administration; Associate Professor Nino Tophuridze, Speaker of the
Representative Council; and Associate Professor Irma Dikhaminjia, Dean of the
Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.
