Annual Legal Clinic Presentation Held at Sokhumi State University

The annual presentation of the Legal Clinic was held at Sokhumi State University. As part of the event, the university hosted 10th–12th grade students from Public School No. 2, named after Jumber Betashvili.

The visit took place within the framework of the 18-credit Practical Law Teaching course of the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Diplomacy. Second-year Master’s students delivered presentations to the school students on current and socially significant legal issues.

The guests were welcomed by the Rector of Sokhumi State University, Professor Tea Jugeli; the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Diplomacy, Professor Vepkhvia Gvaramia; and the Head of the Legal Clinic, Professor Lali Gabisonia, who also led the presentation session.

During this year’s final Legal Clinic presentation, second-year Master’s students presented the following topics:

    Anano Panchulidze – "Cybersecurity: Legal Aspects and Data Protection"

    Sofio Khajomia – "Online Behavior, Social Networks, and Their Legal Regulation"

    Mziana Jikia – "Specifics of Child Employment in the Public and Private Sectors"

    Saba Robakidze – "Partnership Between Police and Adolescents"

    Ana Giligashvili – "Bullying in Adolescence"

    Giorgi Mekhrishvili – "Tobacco and Drugs: A Threat That May Define Your Future"

    Natia Zubiashvili – "Child Property and Inheritance Rights"

    Mariam Lomauridze – "Intellectual Property: How to Protect Your Ideas"

The meeting was held in an interactive format. The students and their teacher, Inga Todua, participated actively in the discussions, asking questions and sharing their opinions.

Following the presentations, the guests toured the university infrastructure, including the mock Courtroom and the Criminalistics Laboratory. The Head of the Laboratory, Associate Professor Gimzer Alania, introduced the students to modern technical equipment used for forensic examinations. The visitors showed particular interest in the educational and scientific spaces.
