International scientific forum dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences


On April 27, 2026, Sokhumi State University hosted the opening of an international scientific forum dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.

 Scheduled to run from April 27 to April 30, the event brings together Georgian and international scholars, university representatives, and research institutions to discuss a wide range of academic disciplines. Following the opening ceremony and a plenary session, the forum continued with specialized sections covering fields such as history, philology, education sciences, artificial intelligence, ecology, law, and international relations.

The event's hybrid format allows for both in-person and online participation from experts worldwide. The opening session was attended by prominent figures, including SSU Rector Professor Tea Jugeli, Academician Lado Papava, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Jemal Gamakharia, and the Minister of Education and Culture of Abkhazia, Giorgi Dzadzamia. The forum features collaboration with esteemed institutions such as Tbilisi State University, the National Archives of Georgia, and the National Centre of Manuscripts, along with partner universities from Germany, Israel, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Greece, Moldova, and Ukraine. The international scientific forum will continue its scheduled academic program through the following days.
