On
March 16, Professor Zurab Khonelidze, Rector of Sokhumi State University
attended the meeting of the Council of Rectors of Accredited Higher Educational
Institutions of Georgia, organized by the National Center for Assessment and
Development and National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement at Kachreti
Ambassadori.
Presentation
of the new model of the exams, from 2020 the new rule of grants distribution,
student mobility, 180 credit undergraduate program and 60 credit Master’s program
was held at the session.
Reports
to the Rectors were delivered by: Director of the LEPL National Assessment and
Examination Center - Sophio Gorgodze; Director of the LEPL National Center for
Educational Quality Enhancement - Giorgi Vashakidze; Head of Mathematical Group
of LEPL Evaluation and Examinations Center - Zaza Tevdoradze; Head of Registry
Division - Nino Tsereteli; Head of Education Quality Development Division -
Nino Berelidze.
Rectors
of higher educational institutions took part in discussions. The results of the
discussion were summarized by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and
Sport - Mikheil Batiashvili.
From
2020, entrants will be tested in three compulsory subjects. Humanitarian
directions: Georgian, English, History; Technical directions: Georgian,
English, Mathematics. The funding model also changes.
